FEATURED WORKS

Illustrative Blackwork

The reaper is a classic tattoo design, and we especially like the texture and boldness in this piece. As with much of Hugo's work this design is heavy on the black ink and incorporates stippling or dotwork to accompany the main imagery.

Flower

tattoo

Botanical designs are among our favorite tattoos, period. The richness of the red, mixed with the subtle yellow and white highlights really make this tattoo look great. Of course Hugo added an element of blackwork style to the design with the stippling in the leaves.

Hannya mask

The Hannya mask is said to be demonic and dangerous but also sorrowful and tormented, displaying the complexity of human emotions. It's symbolic nature makes, and they come in many colors, and can be done in practically any style of tattoo, makes it a very popular design amongst collectors.

RESIDENT ARTIST

Hugo's artistic style is a little hard to nail down. It can be described as a mixture between blackwork, Japanese, and neo-traditional tattooing, but with a dose of illustrative and realistic tattooing infused in there as well. Whatever you call it, we like it, and we hope you do too.

Hugo is accepting appointment requests for custom tattoos at our Pacific Beach location. To inquire about getting tattooed, please fill out the contact form here, or for general questions visit our FAQ page.
