Turk Wins in Montreal

Friday, September 28th, 2007

Turk returned home from Canada with “Tattoo of the Day”, “Best Tattoo of the Convention” and a big smile from the Montreal Tattoo Convention (September 14th-16th).

Here’s what Turk had to say about his experience in Montreal two weeks ago…

“Montreal is a beautiful city! The people are friendly, the food is amazing, and they have great taste in tattoos, hahaha! This is my third year at this convention, and i have to say, it gets better every year i go. I am grateful to have won the “Tattoo of the Day”, and have that same tattoo win the “Best Tattoo of the Convention”, especially when working with some of the best tattoo artists that North America has to offer. I look forward to returning next year and representing the Guru name…”

What do you think of Turk’s winning piece? Let it all out…like you do when your girlfriends not around, right here.

Rory Keating on TLC’s “Tattoo Wars”

Monday, September 24th, 2007

The Learning Channels “Tattoo Wars” is a show that pits the best tattoo artists of our time against each other in a head to head creation competition. In each episode the world, legend and work of two internationally acclaimed tattooists is explored. They then travel to a huge tattoo expo where the stars, in three hours time, ink a tattoo on the skin of two willing clients. These creations have a common theme, such as a dragon, a calla lily, a sailor, a tribal gauntlet, or a hanya (Japanese devil mask) but are rendered in the unique style of each artist. As the show closes, thousands of show attendees vote for the creation they like the best and the winning artist takes home the Tattoo Wars trophy.

Guru’s Rory Keating will debut on Tattoo Wars October 18th. Rory was being filmed this past August at both Guru Tattoo and the Seattle Tattoo Convention for his upcoming TV appearance. He will be featured on Episode 2. For a full schedule of airing times, please visit the link below.

Law & Order ACTOR for president? Are you joking?

Fred Thompson announced “I am running for president of the United States,” during a taping of NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” last Wednesday evening. While this guy was fondling Jay Leno’s balls, his competitors were dutifully sweating it out under the debating heat lamps.

Granted, Thompson has had a multifaceted career as a prosecutor, lobbyist, ACTOR and U.S. senator from Tennessee. But basically, he’s just using his fame to elongate that flabby turtle neck of his for that extra inch needed to win the race against his fellow competitors.

In his video announcement the next day, Thompson showed his support for what he termed “common-sense conservative principles,” including low taxes, free markets, balanced budgets. Uhhhh sound familiar?

Thompson’s view on the war in Iraq pushes for a withdrawal of U.S. forces, encompassing President Bush’s view that the U.S. effort in Iraq is a central front in the war on terror.

“They know if we abandon our efforts, or appear weak and divided… Blah BLAHH blaah BLaah…

Do we really need another actor in Politics? Fuck it, lets throw the GOVERNATOR in the mix. I mean seriously.
